La Rose de Blida un récit d’adolescence autobiographique, Linked to the study theme “Telling One’s Story, Representing Oneself” in the 9ᵗʰ-grade French curriculum, this is the moving tale of an impossible first love, inspired by an episode the author personally experienced.
The story unfolds in post-colonial Algeria, inside a military boarding school. A young boy, thirsty for ideals and wounded by the bullying of his superiors, falls hopelessly in love.
