Taleb Mohamed Abdelrahmane was born on 14 March 1914 in Blida to Mohamed and Ghenia Belazougui. An ordinary man of the people, he worked as a barber on Ameurouche Street and raised six children.

Joining the FLN

In 1955, Taleb joined the National Liberation Front (FLN), taking on an essential but dangerous role: managing financial operations that kept the liberation movement funded and functional in the Blida region.

His activities were eventually discovered by colonial authorities, who arrested and tortured him. He survived, though he remained under surveillance for a full year following his release.

Armed Struggle

In 1957, undeterred by his previous ordeal, Taleb enlisted in the National Liberation Army (ALN), joining the second sector, second division. He participated in weapons procurement missions to Tunisia — perilous journeys that kept the fighters supplied.

Martyrdom

In 1959, during a military confrontation in which enemy forces surrounded his group, Taleb Mohamed Abdelrahmane died fighting for Algerian independence. He was 45 years old.

Legacy

He represents the generation of fathers and family men who sacrificed everything — not for personal glory, but out of duty to a nation that deserved to be free. His name is honored among the martyrs of Blida.
