Braham Brakni was born on 19 January 1931 in Blida, Algeria. A gifted football striker known for his sharp attacking instinct and determination on the pitch, he became one of the most recognized players of USM Blida (USMB).
Football Career
Braham made his first appearance for USMB on 25 September 1949 in a Division d'Honneur match against Racing Universitaire d'Alger — a debut that announced a talent the club would come to cherish.
He scored his inaugural goal for the team on 26 November 1950 during a Division d'Honneur encounter with Gallia Sport d'Alger, beginning a scoring record that would cement his reputation as one of Blida's finest forwards.
Revolution and Martyrdom
Like many Algerian athletes of his generation, Braham Brakni chose his country over his career when Algeria's War of Independence erupted. He died in 1957 in Menaceur, Tipaza Province, giving his life for Algerian independence.
